Audit Readiness Consultant - Contract or Hire

Quincy Advisory, LLC is currently looking to staff an Audit Readiness consultants for an anticipated award at the beginning of 2017.  A successful candidate will have the ability to handle multiple tasks and will have prior experience leading small project teams.  The individuals will have experience in the following areas:
  • Performing audit readiness reviews and assessments to identify areas of audit significance.
  • Incorporating an Audit Readiness and Implementation Process approach
  • Documenting an Audit Readiness Project Plan, business and control processes
  • Analyzing programs, identifying ownership responsibility for programs that have material impact on financial statements, and developing recommended roles and responsibilities for those leaders based on remediation requirements, risk and internal control findings. 
  • Analyzing readiness review findings and developing Communication Plans for each corrective action. 
  • Reviewing and recommending reconciliations needed and documenting the findings in a Reconciliation Report. 
  • Preparing recommended Financial Policy Guidance and/or updates to clearly define those reconciliations, and providing technical support on the recommended implementations. 
  • Supporting the availability, completeness, and accuracy of data
  • Providing technical assistance and advisory capability to managers and others at work site location on matters of accounting controls and financial reporting responsibilities
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office software (excel, word, access) to perform data analysis
  • Bring knowledge of compliance regulations and internal control standards
  • Ability to work with government personnel at all levels to coordinate corrective action resolutions
  • Education: a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related discipline is required
  • Experience:  Minimum of 4 years of experience specialized in areas such as:  Financial Improvement & Audit Readiness (FIAR), conducting reconciliations; reviewing internal controls; federal financial reporting; federal auditing; and United States Government Standard General Ledger knowledge. 
  • Have knowledge of USSGL, FMFIA, FFMIA, FISMA, IPERA, FASAB and OMB policies
  • Knowledge of OMB Circular A-123
  • Experience with audit readiness, resolution and remediation
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally directly with the client
  • Good analytical skills, documentation skills, requirements gathering skills and interpretation of business requirements
  • Previous Federal government finance/accounting experience is a MUST.
  • Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the client
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Some travel – possibly 6, one week trips within the United States
